Why Does Dogs Like Earwax. If you look in your dogs ear and there is brown earwax first smell the ear. Then clean the ear out with a paper town or cotton swab. Earwax contains dead skin cells fatty acids and small amounts of cholesterol. Cats specifically are attuned to the scent of animal proteins.
However in some instances one dog may develop an ear infection due to continual moisture in the ear. Ear infections produce pus and that might be what feels wet inside your ear. Small dogs have about 18 of a teaspoon medium-sized dogs have ¼ teaspoon while large dogs should have a ½. Technically this probably isnt earwax but it is easy to assume that is what is coming out. Or accidentally left a Q-tip out and your cat has enjoyed it like a lollypop. Perhaps you have noticed two dogs seemingly relaxed licking each others ears.
