Is It True That Dogs Wag Their Tails When They Are Happy. Instead of expressing themselves with words they have a wide variety of other communication methods. A lot of times when dogs wag their tails it seems that they are thrilled and delighted. Actually dogs dont even wag their tails to express happiness although they are generally happy when they wag their tails. It is possible for some dogs who have not experienced being with a pack or with other dogs to not know this.

Often it seems fairly obvious what the dog is trying to tell you when it wags its tail. Its kind of like a human frowning. Happy dogs wag like they have no control over themselves sometimes swinging their tails so fiercely that their whole rear ends move too. Dogs do wag their tail when they are happy but this isnt the only reason.

Most people look at a dog with a wagging tail and assume it is happy. While this is usually true there are times when a dog wags its tail just before it becomes aggressive. Studies show that dogs wag their tails to the right when they are happy or confident and to the left when they are frightened and there is a reason for this. Its kind of like a human frowning.
